Argentine empanada taco truck in San Francisco 29 July 09

I love empanadas. In the Philippines, empanadas are filled with savoury beef or chicken, peas, and finely chopped red paprikas and onions. Argentines make fabulous empanadas, very similar to what we have in the Philippines. Because I have no easy access to Philippine empanadas, I was thrilled to find the Argentine variety served out of a taco truck near Fisherman’s Wharf. The pastry is thin and flaky, the empanada is stuffed with meat filling and the price is right: $3.50.
