A quiet afternoon in the Provençal countryside, reading a book or taking a nap after a dip in the pool. A walk into the medieval village of Oppède le Vieux in the evening for dinner. Who hasn’t fantasized about a lazy holiday in the south of France, lounging among the vineyards with sweeping views of the mountains and fields?

If you want to get away from the crowds and spend time in the countryside, consider staying at Le Mourre, a bastide near Oppède le Vieux, a small village built on a rocky hill, close to Menerbes.

Le Mourre is a seventeenth century country house set in ten acres, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Guests stay in six independent cottages which used to be the pigeon house, the barn, etc. Each cottage has a private terrace, garden, kitchen, TV, washing machine, and also twin or double beds. There’s a swimming pool for those hot days in Provence.

Rates start at 165 EUR per night (3 night stay minimum) and from 930 EUR per week.
