Hotel Palazzo Caracciolo: affordable baroque palace in Naples, Italy
If you want to stay in Naples to explore its culinary and historical delights like the characters in “Eat Pray Love”, consider the Hotel Palazzo Caracciolo, a 143-room hotel in the heart of the city where neo-baroque meets modern design. It is close to the Madre del Buon Consiglio, Santa Maria della Sanita and Capella Sansevero as well as the National Archaeological Museum, Museo e Gallerie di Capodimonte and Duomo San Gennaro.
The palace was the residence of the aristocratic Caracciolo family and of Joachim Murat, one of Napoleon’s illustrious generals (note: Murat married Napoleon’s younger sister, Caroline Bonaparte; he was also named first King of Naples by Napoleon).
The hotel is quite affordable, with double rooms starting at 100 EUR.
