Hotel Fox in Copenhagen is an amazing boutique hotel whose 61 rooms are designed by 21 artists. Each room has its own distinctive design ranging from stark minimalism to Japanese manga. The room types are divided into four categories: small, medium, large and x-large. Below are photos of some of my favorites.

Room 212: Japanese Garden

This room was designed by Simone Legno (also known as tokidoki), whose Japanese-inspired designs can be found on t-shirts, bags, and apparently now, in hotel rooms. Simone grew up in Rome and now lives in Los Angeles.

* * * *

Room 306: Pico-Pico

This stark white minimalist room was designed by Kim Hiorthøy, a young Norwegian designer, artist, musician, film-maker and photographer. Definitely not for messy people.

* * * *

Room 202: You are a baby

It’s not hard to see why this room is called “You are a baby”. The bright primary colors and the replica of a child’s toy attached to the ceiling, make this room a sheer joy to sleep in. It was designed by Boris Hoppek, a German urban artist.

* * * *

These are only three of the rooms at Hotel Fox, and if they are not available when you book, the other rooms are just as fabulous. The hotel has a sushi restaurant called Sushi Treat, which is open for dinner. There’s free Wi-Fi, bicycles and iPods for rent, and even taxi-sharing with other guests. Room rates hover around 130 EUR for a medium room (2 persons sharing). It’s very hard to pin down the rates because they have many specials including one for 18-40 year olds.
